Discovering the Engineer Within

Amaan Singh Bubber’s Journey in Innovation and Passion

My name is Amaan Singh Bubber. I live in the town of Amritsar in North India.

My journey into the world of engineering began with an early passion for robotics. At the age of 9 I earned my first EV3 set by doing odd jobs for my parents which ignited my fascination with the world of robotics. This enthusiasm propelled me to actively seek opportunities for learning and exploration. During summer and winter vacations, I attended robotics classes at the STEM Center in Chennai, where I not only found joy in delving into the intricacies of robotics but also began to master its various facets.

My mind often raced ahead of my ability to convey ideas in writing. However, far from being deterred, this characteristic fuelled my determination to bridge the gap between my thoughts and effective communication.

I maintain a strong academic foundation across a range of subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Informatics Practices, under the CBSE Board, at Spring Dales Senior School in Amritsar, Punjab.

My leadership skills shone through my role as the Head of Media and Technology at Woodstock School, where I successfully spearheaded the implementation of an advanced AV system for Parker Hall, our main auditorium. Notably, I achieved a significant feat during my time at Woodstock by working with a friend to jointly develop a Face Recognition Attendance software. This innovative software intended to streamline the attendance-taking process.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent time at my father’s company where I actively worked with the design and manufacturing teams to develop a Servo Operated Can Seaming Machine as well as a Triple Drum Seaming machine. A design patent has been filed for the Servo Seaming machine which is currently pending.

I have also gained practical experience through diverse internships, including stints at a Royal Enfield Motorcycle Dealership, Maruti Nexa Car Service Center, and BLP Industry.AI. These experiences allowed me to explore mechanics, electronics, automotive components, CNC machines, and AI-driven technologies.

Beyond my technical pursuits, I have actively taken part in sports, particularly basketball, and have participated in hiking, and similar outdoor activities.

I also have a successful track record in debates and attended the MUN in New York as a delegate of Spain, as part of the Woodstock School team in 2019.

My dedication to community service is evident through my involvement in “Project Fight the Bite,” a collaborative effort aimed at combating mosquito-borne diseases. I worked with the government, a large multinational company and an NGO to raise funds for the acquisition and distribution of 5000 mosquito repellents in affected areas, as well as participated in educating the community about ways to prevent mosquito breeding.

My fascination with robotics remains a constant thread throughout my journey, aided by my participation in online courses in Java, Python programming, and Android Studio. My insistence on pursuing my passion for building things, coupled with my ability to overcome challenges and innovate, positions me as an ideal candidate for further studies in engineering at the college level.
